About us

LifeLabs New York is a social enterprise based in New York City. We are an incubator for ideas on living wisely and well,
offering courses, labs, and events for the common good.

How it all started
We were wondering: What if there were a school for adults, but instead of algebra and spelling lessons, you could join
expert courses on the real stuff of life.... Laboratories for great ideas, practice sessions on the art of marriage and
science of a good job, a gym for bad day 'vaulting' skills. What if the photography teacher can show us new ways of
looking and our music teacher can show us new life harmonies?

We noticed:
  • Most of us already know what makes life good, but have trouble remembering to do those things often enough.
  • Great teachers are people who inspire us to try something new and see life from unique angles
  • Sometimes you can learn one tiny little trick that leads to big new ideas.

So, we created the LAB as a place for all of the above.

Our Team
Courses at LifeLabs are led by a vibrant team of researchers, authors, artists, and philosophers who want to make a
difference in the world and have fun while doing it. The Director /Founder of LifeLabs is
Dr. LeeAnn Renninger.

The Council
LifeLabs is made possible by the continued input and ideas of movers & shakers, and skilled students & explorers who
continue with their own experiments in the art of living long after entering the LAB. If you are a researcher, teacher, or
rebel who is interested in joining our team, brainstorming sessions, or community planning groups, contact: Info(at)

Class cancellation policy
What if I'm not able to make it to a course or lab that I've signed up for?

For weeknight Lab classes and events: unfortunately we are not able to offer refunds or credits for sessions that you
are not able to attend- but you can feel free to send a friend to take your spot. Just be sure to let us know 24 hours in
advance, so we add your friend's name to the entry list.

For weekend courses: The easiest thing for you to do is find a friend to take your spot! Spots are fully transferable. If
the cancellation is made at least 7 days in advance we can also issue you a credit, less 15% of the cost of the course.
Within less than 7 days, we cannot offer any refund - this isn't because we like to be strict...it's only  because there isn't
enough time for us to find a replacement for the course.
